Industrial Revolution WebQuest #1

This WebQuest allows students to research life during the Industrial Revolution.  Rather than focusing on specific inventions and events, they can experience the Industrial Revolution as either a member of the lower class, middle class or upper class.  They will use their research findings to create a newspaper article that describes how the Industrial Revolution has made life better and/or worse for the class they have been labeled.

Industrial Revolution WebQuest #2

This WebQuest, which also involves researching the Industrial Revolution, allows students to look more into the actual inventions and new developments of the time.  Each group of students will be given a category, including agriculture, child labor, women's rights, transportation, etc.  The groups will only research information relating to their category, and they must prepare a presentation and essay that will teach the rest of their classmates about their topic.

Exploring Simple Machines WebQuest

This WebQuest, which is geared more for upper-elementary students, focuses on both research and creativity.  The students begin by researching simple machines and explaining how they work.  They must also choose a category and find machines that are used in that category.  Lastly, with all of their information, they are to create their own simple machine and demonstrate how it is used.

Simple Machines WebQuest

This simple machine WebQuest is perfect for high school students in a physics class.  The students are asked to research provided vocabulary terms, like friction, force, work and power, as well as a provided list of tools and machines, and create a picture book to explain them all.  There are also handouts and quizzes to complete.  Lastly, each group is asked to create a mouse trap using the information they found on simple machines.  This WebQuest has many steps and is perfect for a long term project.
